Malvan (Marathi: मालवण) (also written as Malwan) is a town in Sindhudurg District, the southernmost district of Maharashtra.
It was my second marriage anniversary and my mate has taken me to the Malvan just to spend lazzzzy holiday,Initially we thought we will get bore spending 2 days and this will be sufficient,
but it was not like that this place has Natural surroundings and Tranquil environment.
We moved from pune on the night of 17 nth and reached in the morning 0f 18 nth of feb 2013 sharp @ 5:30 AM , we traveled by public transport that is bus ,
if you dont have your own four wheeler then only single option you will have and that is Pune to Malvan bus, Our morning started ,
Our morning has started and for accommodation we have booked house in advance and stayed all four days with Rosary House, A pleasant stay amongst all Malvan hotels.
Rosary house is a home stay located in Chivla, and is just a minute walk from the beach.The Home stay is located in a coconut plantation with three non A/c rooms built in a traditional style. rosaryhousemalvan
Rosary house is perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The rooms were cozy n excellent, n the service is very prompt.
The food was awesome. The Fernandez family paid great attention to all our needs n did everything to make our stay enjoyable.
Safe, clean n is located at a walk able distance from the Beautiful Chivala Beach. i can Definitely recommend it for the services, true hospitality n value for money !!!!

Sindhudurg - A sea fort. This impressive Sindhudurg (meaning Ocean Fort), was built in 1664 by the great 17th century Maratha King, Shivaji on "Kurte" island to the glory of the Maratha Empire. The construction of a sea fort was a stupendous task which is said to be completed in mere two and a half years. Over 2000 khandis (4000 mounds) of iron were used for casting and the foundation stones were laid down firmly in lead. It is said that the rocks of the same island were used to built the fort. Three sweet water wells are present on Sindhudurg Fort.
Rock Garden - The Rock garden is situated near the Arase Mahal and on the Rocky Shore of Malvan.

Other things you will love to do are Boating,Snorkeling, Dolphin watch, Scuba diving and all water sports, By snorkeling one can observe underwater life,ts exciting to see dolphins swimming in there natural environment..one can see 30-40 dolphins at a time, many tourists are satisfied by the view.
I loved Snorkeling, it was my first experience under water and i was under water about 15 minutes , I have touched the big coral, saw many small little pretty fishes and one big size fish which was very long in size and of milky color, it was wonderful experience for me and the guide was well trained since i could enjoy without fear :)
